We do this with respect for nature and the attitude to intervene as little as possible in the natural process. That’s why you will not find any young wines with primary fruit aromas in our range, that disappoint in taste. Even our Grüner Veltliner – Der Leichte, which means “The light one” is only released after extended aging on the fine lees. We give all our wines the time they need for perfect maturity and full taste.

“The idea drives me to draw on our accumulated knowledge and yet always try something new. So our wines continue to become more distinctive.” For Franz Türk, the typical character of each site with its own microclimate and the weather is a new challenge year after year. It combines careful observation, gentle response, and determination, when action needs to be taken quickly to ensure the quality of the wine.

A winery with a 300 year tradition means 300 years of experience in wine knowledge, which is constantly growing. We have been passing this knowledge on from generation to generation since the 18th century. Ask us how it could be even better. This balance of traditional winemaking and the search for new ways accompanies our work in the vineyard and in the cellar. More than 75% of our vineyards are planted with Grüner Veltliner. The enormous potential of Austria’s signature white grape variety is already receiving wide international attention. It shows how versatile the variety Grüner Veltliner can be in taste and depth. Our wines live – they are not “primeurs”, not early-drinking young wines, but wines with longevity, that will last For many years to come.
